On a recent trip to Vancouver, we had a chance to catch up with the owner and manager of a wonderful artisan bread and cheese shop, Pane e Fromaggio. This magical store was bustling at lunch time serving sandwiches and breads to people on the go and piping hot aromatic soups paired with luxurious Italian coffees for those wishing to stay and soak up the wonderful energy that pervades this store.

With a fantastic cheese counter featuring both local and imported specialty cheeses, we were thrilled to find an old favourite that is not available in Ontario – the Humboldt Fog from Cypress Grove Chevre – a soft, elegant goats cheese with a creamy texture and a slightly tangy finish – delicious and definitely worth the trip. It doesn’t stop there though as you move further down the store to their selection of freshly baked breads, made in their very own bakery to exclusive recipes.

It is impossible to go into this store and to not have every taste bud tempted by the counter of antipasti and homemade tapenades, the array of freshly made desserts, a European coffee bar and of course, a full side of the store containing tempting culinary treats, from all over the world, which you can take home to cook with and enjoy.

David, the owner, and Michael, the manager who greeted us at the store, have done a wonderful job of featuring Dove Tale products on their retail shelves, creating a selection of their own point of purchase information cards, sharing with the customer the unique stories of our brands. Always in tow, you’ll find the Fine Cheese Co. range of crackers to accompany their selection of specialty cheeses and the Belvoir Fruit Pressés to refresh the palette.
